A rare "family" picture of 3 x VRYBUITER gin bottles.
These beautiful gin bottle are embossed with an impression of General Jacobus de la Rey, a military leader of the Boers in their war against the British Empire Forces, circa 1899 - 1902.
The term Freebooter is used to describe a " privateer, pirate, robber " which does not appear to match the reputation of General de la Rey, an admired war hero who used guerrilla tactics to wage war on the opposing armed forces.
